In the good old days, we built driver’s ed by gathering around a table, hashing things out—idea by idea, law by law.
That spirit of collaboration built strong systems and shared standards. But now, things move faster. Expectations are higher. And instructors deserve better tools.
Why This Project Exists
Street Law Open Drive started from a mix of panic, frustration, and purpose.
After seeing instructors stuck with outdated books, rigid scripts, and overpriced corporate materials, we decided:
We can build something better—together.
This project is powered by belief:
- That instructors deserve curriculum that empowers, not limits
- That students deserve more thinking, less memorizing
- That professional-grade tools should be free and open
- That the traffic safety community is strongest when we share
