📝 Knowledge Test

What to Bring:

  • Valid photo identification (passport, school ID, or state ID)
  • Must be 15.5 years old OR have fully completed a driver education program (both classroom and driving portions) with a passing grade in the DOL License Express system
  • Payment for test fee (tap, card, or cash)
  • Confirmation email or appointment details

What to Expect:

  • 📋 40 multiple-choice questions covering Washington State driving laws
  • ⏱️ Testing time scheduled for 1 hour - most finish in 30-40 minutes
  • Pass with 80% or higher (32 correct answers)
  • 🔄 If you don't pass, check the testing schedule for the next available testing time
  • 📱 Computer-based testing with immediate results

🚗 Drive Test

What to Bring:

  • Must be 15 years old and have completed a traffic education course and passed the WA State Knowledge Test first
  • Valid learner's permit or instruction permit
  • Proof of insurance for the vehicle you'll be testing in
  • Vehicle registration (current and valid)
  • Payment for test fee
  • If under 18: Parent/guardian must be present

What to Expect:

  • 🚦 Pre-trip vehicle safety inspection (lights, signals, brakes, horn)
  • 🛣️ 15-20 minute on-road driving assessment
  • 🔄 Skills tested: turns, lane changes, parking, backing, intersections, parallel parking, backing around a corner, pulling to the side of the road and reentering, and parking on a hill
  • 👁️ Observation of mirrors, signals, and defensive driving techniques
  • Immediate feedback and results after completion
